Taking our Dress Agency Online
During the lockdown, my business like many others ground to something of a halt. Under normal circumstances as well as offering one to one personal styling consultations and workshops, I run a preloved dress agency for womens clothes. I historically sold through pop up shops at local venues, at fairs and markets, and through one on one appointments. When it wasn't possible to meet face to face, I realised we would have to try something different.
Using an online shop platform, I decided to set up and run the dress agency as an online shop, which launched on 1st June. I was fortunate enough to be given some beautiful clothes to sell on behalf of a charity, which has kept our stock levels up, and our online business has got off to a great start with plenty of orders coming in. Even when restrictions lift, I see the online shop as a great resource for the business, and is perhaps something I wouldn’t have considered had we not been in lockdown.
So, the next project is to start looking at ways to take the personal styling side of the business online. I’ve been running our 12-week online course called Sustainable Style Studio for a while now, but I'm looking to see how we can take other personal styling courses and workshops online. I've also used the time during lockdown to undertake some advanced colour training so look out for more details coming out about our new online colour analysis service.
